The Nursery is [almost] Finished!

If you're following along with the 2016 Scripture Memory / Dwell Richly printable, here's the verse for week 7:

"Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand." Isaiah 41:10 (NLT)

The nursery is well on its way to completion! We're rounding out 32 weeks right now so we wanted to get everything in its place just in case Mia Kai decides to make her appearance early (which we're not hoping for, just preparing for!).

If you've spoken with me in the past six months about the nursery, you know that there have been a few 'come-to-Jesus' moments (i.e. there was a point where we decided not to even assemble / put the crib or glider in the nursery because neither would fit if we were going to keep the guest bed in there). We'll talk about that more later, but for now, we hope you'll enjoy the view of our little one's nursery!

I originally wanted zero barnwood in the nursery but I couldn't get away from it. It apparently has a soft spot in my heart. The framed mirror, hello sign and shelves are barnwood-inspired. However, the goal of keeping the design clean with hints of gold, green and peachy pink was pretty on par. I still need to find something for the bottom shelf and a little something to go in the wire basket with the potted grass. Suggestions are welcome! :)

Eventually this will be the changing table but we're waiting until after the baby showers before we purchase any essentials.

Book: Adventures with Barefoot Critters // My friends Katy Jo and Julie gave us this book when we told them the gender and it is amazing!! The illustrations are phenomenal. It teaches about the alphabet, seasons, little woodland animals - just to hit the highlights!

Artwork: Realistic Potted Cactus Print by Taylor Town // Mrs. Deer by Natalie Groves (one of my absolute most favorite artists) from Minted // Flora in Peach I by Yao Cheng from Minted

Changing table, side table and baby weight scale - all fantastic finds from my mom!

The glider ended up being a little shorter than we expected... but we're wondering if that's because the crib has such a tall back? It's still pretty comfy though!

handlettered watercolor 'beloved' // via Jitney's Journeys

And this!! I asked my sister-in-love, Jackie, if she would handletter the word 'beloved' (the root meaning of Mia's name) so I could frame it. We tag teamed on the project over Christmas break. She handlettered and vectorized it then I opened it in Photoshop, added a soft pink watercolor overlay and added the words (thank you, thesaurus) admired, cherished, loved and precious. Obviously, I had to hang it next to the glider! :) Here's the full post about how we decided on the name Mia Kai.

We obviously need to get a mattress and bedding for the crib along with a few other things but what is your favorite part about the nursery so far? Let us know in the comments below!
