The Rainbow State // Kauai, Hawaii

Oh, the Rainbow State. You hold such a sweet place in our hearts! We spent the month of June exploring our favorite island but we'll just compile everything into one post.

The Rainbow State

This is one of our favorite spots, mainly because it's close to the hotel and it makes for the perfect walk to either Poipu Village or Keoki's Paradise. We've seen tons of giant turtles just surfing the waves and even a couple of whales in this area. It's also the perfect place to spot a rainbow after a quick rain shower.

For Father's Day, we hiked to our favorite view of the island, atop the Canyon Trail overlooking the Waimea Canyon. It was the perfect way to celebrate JD! Watching him as daddy to Mia Kai is absolutely one of my favorite things in life.

We hiked some more trails, spent a couple of days at the Hilton Garden Inn which was close to Lydgate Park (swing photo), randomly pulled over to spend time at a beach for an afternoon (because why not?), and also celebrated Mia Kai's one year post-op milestone from her Craniosynostosis surgery!

Side note: There's a really cool playground within walking (or running) distance called Kamalani Playground. I read that 7,000 volunteers gathered together to build it! It's a wooden structure of mazes and activities - perfect for kids and fun for adults!
