JULY 3, 2016

We came home from the hospital yesterday to a delicious home cooked meal. Mom and dad met us in Huntsville to help out and relieve us for a bit. JD and I even had the chance to go on a bike ride! MK had a pretty rough evening with pain and we're pretty sure she is tired of sitting in a car seat but we have to keep her in an incline with the donut pillow behind her head for a while.

Pre-surgery, she would only eat every 3.5 to 4 hours and sleep 6 to 8 hours through the night. Post-surgery, she's wanting to eat every 2.5 to 3 hours, even during the night, which we're totally fine with but it's just been quite a change for us. I feel for those mamas whose babies wake up to feed through the night! However, we're grateful that she's feeling well enough to eat so much!! Overall, her routine and all has been quite a bit different since surgery so far. We know she'll eventually get back to her normal schedule and chill self, but for now it's a whole new ballgame. We've decided to basically go into this healing process by treating her like she just got out of the hospital from birth.

Mom and dad watched her this morning and JD and I got to sleep for a full five hours!!! It was amazing. We also made a quick trip to Carters because we didn't think about the fact we'd need button-up zipper jammies and outfits for her after surgery. Even though her head is okay, we are both nervous to pull outfits over it.
